How to grow cat grass from seed

[Updated: January 23rd, 2015] Frankly, I have never seen cat grass before, let alone tasted it. However, Human knows from her previous cats that cats love cat grass.

Cat grass is obviously known to be very delicious, natural, nutritious and easy to grow. Well, as long as it is edible, then I am definitely for it.

Yesterday Human and I went ahead and grew cat grass from seed. I look forward to seeing them grow from seeds to grass so I can actually eat all of them 🙂

What human needs:

How human does it:

1. Human fills the grow box with some organic potting soil (about 3 cm = 1.8 inch deep).
2. Human pours some water into the grow box to moisten the soil.
3. Human digs small holes in the soil using the chopstick (about 1.5 cm = 0.6 inch deep).

4. And I certainly make sure that the gaps between the holes are about 2 cm = 0.8 inch apart.

5. Human fills the holes with 3 – 5 cat grass seeds. I count each of them (yes, it’s a joke 🙂 )

6. Human covers the holes with some soil using the chopstick and I use my own paw to do the same.

7. Human puts the lid onto the grow box and place it in a dark and warm location.

8. Human and I water the soil to keep it moist. Don’t overwater the soil. Just enough to keep the soil evenly moist at all times.

9. Human and I water the soil every other day.

10. Cat grass is about 18 cm (= 7 inch) tall and is ready to be eaten. Yummy!

The seeds have fully grown into cat grasses within 10 days (as it is said on the package) and they are ready to be served. And yes, they are yummies! 🙂

How about your cat grass? Let me know in the comment section below.
