Why do we have to clean the goldfish if I could just eat them?

There’s absolutely no doubt that I am Human’s one and only favorite. So, the other day when I said that I would really really love to eat one of the goldfish – preferably all of them …

Human said, “Let’s get everything ready. Would you like to help me with it?”

And I was like, “Yes, I would! Yes, I would!”

I was also wondering how Human’s going to prepare the goldfish. Cook them? Boild them? Fry them? Steam them?

Or …

Bak them like pies and cookies?

Not that I was picky or anything. I was just so excited! And of course, I was getting more and more excited when Human started to drain the fish tank’s water.

But then, Human put the goldfish into a smaller fish tank one by one. Afterward Human actually put the lid on it as if I was not even allowed to smell them.

As if?

Not as if …

I was not at all allowed to smell them, let alone eat them. In fact, Human was not prepering the goldfish for my dinner. Human was simply cleaning their fish tank!

Bummer!

I asked Human, “Why do we have to clean the goldfish if I could just eat them?” and Human answered,”Because we should always take good care of our family. And we certainly do not eat them”

Good point but still, I was a little bit very disappointed. I thought it would have been OK to eat our family members if they’re small enough to fit in my mouth! 🙂

Well, perhaps next time!
